Cowgirls Lose to No. 11 Oregon State, 7-5

Oklahoma State blew an early four-run lead to 11th-ranked Oregon State as the Beavers came back to hand OSU its fifth straight loss with a 7-5 victory in the final game of the Palm Springs Classic on Sunday morning.

The lead did not last long as the Beavers came back with three runs in both the first and third innings. Miranda led off the game with a solo home run and Young came up later in the inning with a man on and jacked a two-run shot to make it 4-3.
The Cowgirls added an unearned run in the second on an RBI single by first baseman Kim Kaye.
The Beavers went on top with three runs in the bottom of the third and it proved to be all they would need. McGowan drove in the go ahead run with an infield single as Ewing crossed the plate to give Oregon State a 6-5 lead.
The Beavers added an unearned run in the fourth inning to cap the scoring. McGowan shut the Cowgirls down after the second inning who only had two base runners over the last five innings of play.
Jessica Hoppock started the game for OSU and dropped to 1-6 on the season. Ashleigh Tweed and Totte both went 2-for-4, while Kaye drove in two runs for the Cowgirls.
