Cowgirl Golfers finish fourth at Puerto Rico Classic

Cowgirl junior Candie Herrera tied for sixth place individually, the second top-10 finish of her career. She also finished sixth at the 2005 Big 12 Women's Golf Championships. Her three-round total of 221 marks her lowest tournament as a collegian. Herrera's best previous score was a 222 at the 2004 Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
Freshman Pernilla Lindberg recorded the only sub-par round of the tournament by a Cowgirl with a 71 during Sunday's final round. She tied for 15th individually with a three-day total of 223. Junior Mallorie Underwood had her most consistent tournament of the season, carding a 75-74-76—225 total and finishing tied for 22nd.
Senior Jennifer Karr tied for 28th individually after finishing with a 227, while freshman Karin Kinnerud rebounded from a 79 during the first round to record a 74-75 during rounds two and three and finish tied for 31st with a 228.
The 892 team score is the lowest by the Cowgirls this season, and the lowest since last year's Arizona Wildcat invitational, a span of 10 tournaments.
Oklahoma State will return to action March 17 when the Cowgirls compete in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
