Lauren Kitchens scored with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Kitchens led off the fifth inning with a triple to right field. After a strikeout and a ground out had her stuck at third, Ashleigh Tweed hit a popup in the infield that got caught in the wind. Shortstop Aimee Murray got a glove on it and juggled it before it hit the ground and Kitchens scored the final run. The Cowgirls got on the board early scoring two runs in the bottom half of the first. Kim Kaye knocked in the first run in front of the leftfielder, and she came around to score on a dropped fly ball by centerfielder Stacey Gillespie. The Cowgirls took advantage of six UTSA errors for seven unearned runs. OSU broke it open in the second when Ashlyn Watson reached on an error to open the inning. She was the first of five unearned runs in the frame after she came around on an RBI single by Shanel Scott added a two run single in the third and Krystle Sanchez hit a solo home run in the fourth before Kitchens scored in the fifth. Catherine Garza hit a home run for the Roadrunners in the second. UTSA added two more runs in the third, but OSU pitcher Jessica Hoppock continued to get herself out of trouble striking out seven UTSA hitters. Hoppock went the distance scattering five hits over five innings and allowing three runs. It was Hoppock's first victory of the season as she improved to 1-3 on the year. The second game of the scheduled double header was canceled due to weather conditions. OSU will be in action next Wednesday, Feb. 22 when it travels to
