Cowgirls Defeat Seminole State in Exhibition Game

Oklahoma State got a solid start from Jessica Hoppock who threw five perfect innings to lead OSU to a 17-0 nine-inning exhibition win over Seminole State on Wednesday afternoon at the Cowgirl Softball Stadium.
Hoppock struck out seven and did not allow a base runner in five innings of work. Chelsey Barclay relieved Hoppock in the six hits and gave up two hits over the final four innings.
Ashleigh Tweed paced the Cowgirl offense going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a home run, double and a stolen base. Ashlyn Watson went 4-for-5, while Kim Kaye and Chelsea Caraway each contributed three hits. Kaye also drove in three runs thanks to a double and a triple.
The Cowgirls banged out 24 hits in the nine-inning affair. The Cowgirls scored in seven of the nine innings, and broke open a 5-0 game with four runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
The Cowgirls return to regular season action tomorrow when Texas-San Antonio visits Cowgirl Stadium for a double header with the first game scheduled at 3 p.m. The OSU Easton Classic scheduled for this weekend has been canceled due to weather.
