Cowgirl Golfers finish fifth at Regional Challenge

Junior Candie Herrera and freshman Karin Kinnerud tied for 12th individually with a three-round total of 226. Freshman Pernilla Lindberg finished 16th, one stroke back with a 227.
Arizona State, which trailed USC by one stroke entering the final round, shot two strokes better than the Trojans on Wednesday and won the team title. USC's Irene Cho won the individual medal with a one-stroke victory over ASU's Jennifer Osborn.
The Cowgirls, ranked 33rd nationally in the pre-spring rankings, defeated nine higher-ranked teams, including No. 2 UCLA, fifth-ranked Pepperdine and No. 7 Arkansas.
OSU will return to action on Feb. 24 when the Cowgirls compete in the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
