Cowboy Track Team Completes Busy Weekend

Senior Sean McCabe finished with a personal best time of 4:04.14 in the one-mile run. That time was good for 17th place in the event. Also in that event, Cowboy junior Ryan Ripley finished 48th with a time of 4:15.06.
Five other Cowboys recorded personal best times at the Husky Classic. Sophomore Ryan Vail and junior David Pomies recorded personal records in the 3000-meter run. Vail led the Pokes in the event, finishing sixth with a time of 8:03.51. Pomies' time of 8:04.68 was good for eighth place. Cowboy junior David Jankowski finished ninth with a personal best time of 8:05.68 while freshman Daniel Watts and junior Brian Ehlis both set personal records as they finished 17th and 30th, respectively. Watts finished with a time of 8:12.87 and Ehlis finished with a time of 8:21.03.
With their preformances, Cowboys Ryan Vail, David Pomies and Sean McCabe all qualified for Nationals giving the Pokes four national qualifiers thus far (junior Daniel McClemore qualified last weekend in Norman in the 60-meter dash).
“As a group, this is probably the best meet we have ever run,” said Cowboy assistant coach Dave Smith. “I feel like we have some guys who are running well enough to challenge for some top spots in the conference.”

At that meet, junior Daniel McLemore finished 29th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91 and junior Terry Josserand finished 33rd in the 400-meter run with a time of 49.01.
Meanwhile, junior Ryan Ripley and freshman Peter Doroshuk finished 25th and 26th, respectively in the one-mile run. Ripley finished with a time of 4:32.66 and Doroshuk finished with a time of 4:32.66.
The Cowboys will now prepare to compete in the Sooner Indoor meet next weekend in
