Cowgirls Pick Up Win in Campbell/Cartier Classic
February 11, 2006 | Cowgirl Softball
Oklahoma State's softball team picked up its first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Sacramento State at the Campbell/Cartier Classic in San Diego, Calif.
Chelsey Barclay went the distance on the mound giving up just three hits, while tossing a shut out to earn her first victory as a Cowgirl. Barclay started against Cal Poly, but could not get the victory as her bullpen could not hold the lead.
The Cowgirls (1-2) scored lone runs in the second and third which proved to be more than enough. Krystle Sanchez drove in a run with an infield single in the second, and Shianne Cruce drew a bases loaded walk to plate a run in the third.
The Cowgirls added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single by Ashlyn Watson.
OSU will hit the field later today against host San Diego State at approximately 5 p.m. CST.
