OSU Dominates TCU in First Competition of the Season

The Cowgirls turned in a perfect score on the English side, bringing in wins in all the fences and flat classes.
“It is nice to start the season off with a big win. The girls performed well and gained valuable experience with the new Varsity format,” said associate head coach Suzanne Flaig.
The Western team turned in a perfect score in the reining class and fell short of winning all the horsemanship classes but one.
“I really enjoyed the new format and how it allowed the girls to showcase their skills riding the same horse as the opposing team,” said head coach Larry Sanchez.
Once the competition ended the judges announced the overall MVP for each class and discipline. OSU claimed three out of four MVP honors.

The new format was a complete success, having the two arenas running simultaneously enabled the show to run very smooth. The show started at 9 a.m. and ended at 11:30am.
“The spectators were very complimentary of the new format and enjoyed the continued excitement throughout the morning,” said Sanchez.
