Jessica Hoppock started the game on the mound for the Cowgirls and threw three perfect innings. Hoppock struck out seven of the nine hitters she faced.
Randi Cook came on in the fourth and got herself into a jam, but got out of it when a Hillcat hitter fouled out.
The Cowgirls loaded the bases in the fifth inning, but Lauren Kitchens grounded into a force out to end the threat. Kelli Dunagan had a solid outing for
Dunagan retired the first 10 hitters she faced before Kitchens reached on a bloop single in the fourth inning.
RSU added two more runs in the seventh inning. Taylor Whisenhunt went deep for the Hillcats in the 11th inning to round out the scoring for
Shanel Scott had three hits on the evening and wreaked havoc on the bases with four steals. Samantha Heinlein went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Kim Kaye had a double and a triple.
OSU hosts the Fall Classic on Saturday and will play three games at Cowgirl Stadium at
