10th-Ranked Cowboys Head to Pre-National Meet

Head cross country coach Dave Smith hopes that this weekend's race will allow some of the younger runners to get a good look at the course and give them a taste of the big stage.”
“We are not going to run (Ryan) Vail or (Joe) Gray, so that makes two of our top three that won't be running,” said Smith. “We hope some of our young guys can get in there and get a feel for the course and maybe score some points. This will also give us a good opportunity to determine our order going into the conference meet and the national meet.”
OSU finished ninth at last year's Pre-National Meet after Ryan Vail and David Pomies were both forced to drop out of the race. Vail lost his shoe after running into another runner at the five-kilometer mark and Pomies dropped due to an injury at the 4k mark.
Start times for Saturday's races will be released at a later date.
