January 30, 2006 | Cowgirl Equestrian
“The girls put in another great performance like they did yesterday afternoon,” said head coach Larry Sanchez. “I am proud of the way the girls rode and responded after an early round disappointment.”
The second-seeded Cowgirls won five of six individual matches against fifth-seeded South Carolina to take fifth place at Freeman Arena.
Sophomore Samantha Davidson continued her strong weekend by winning her third match up in as many tries.
Juniors Brandi Thomas, Brianne Wiebe, Katie Bohr and freshman Jacqueline Roberts also contributed victories on the final day of competition for the Cowgirls.
New Mexico State, who knocked OSU out in the first round, lost to one-seeded Texas A&M in the finals of the Big 8 Western Tournament.
Oklahoma State Equestrian will host two shows next weekend at the Animal Science Arena in Stillwater, Okla.
