Cowboys Host Aggies
Oklahoma State opens the home portion of its conference schedule this Wednesday as the Cowboys host Texas A&M. The game is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. and will be televised by espn2. Oklahoma State is 10-5 overall this season and 0-1 in Big 12 Conference action after a 69-61 loss at Missouri on Saturday. The Aggies are 11-1 overall, 1-0 in league play and coming off a 63-55 victory over Texas Tech Saturday in College Station.

Wednesday’s game will be televised nationally on espn2 and espn2HD. Dave Barnett will handle the play-by-play duties while Steve Bardo will provide expert analysis. Oklahoma State is 9-3 all-time entering the game Wednesday night on espn2, including a 1-1 mark this season on the Deuce. OSU’s all-time record on national television is 80-57 and the Cowboys are 2-2 this season on national TV.

Oklahoma State shot 54.9 percent from the floor but still fell to the Missouri Tigers 69-61 in the Cowboys’ first conference game of the season Saturday in Columbia. Three Cowboys scored in double figures led by Mario Boggan’s 14. However, the Tiger backcourt duo of Jimmy McKinney and Thomas Gardner combined to score 46 of Mizzou’s 69 points. MU was 6-of-15 from three-point range and 7-of-11 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, OSU made just 3-of-12 treys and made two trips to the charity stripe. The Pokes’ defense allowed Missouri to shoot nearly 53 percent from the floor and 40 percent from long range. It was OSU’s seventh conference opener on the road in 10 Big 12 seasons.

Texas A&M is 11-1 this season, including a perfect 11-0 mark at home. However, the Aggies’ lone loss came in their only road game so far of the season, a 63-56 loss at Pacific in their final non-conference game. Texas A&M defeated Texas Tech 63-55 Saturday in College Station. A&M is led by sophomore forward Joseph Jones, who is averaging 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Junior guard Acie Law is averaging 14.6 points and 3.2 assists per contest. As a team, the Aggies are averaging 75 points per game, nearly 18 better than their opponents. A&M is shooting 45.8 percent from the floor, including 35.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc. They’re also forcing 22.3 turnovers per game on defense, leading the league in turnover margin at +8.1. The Aggies are coached by Billy Gillispie, who has a 32-11 record in his second season as the head coach at Texas A&M. He is 52-43 overall in his fourth season as a head coach.

Oklahoma State is 25-8 all-time against Texas A&M on the hardwood, including a 17-1 mark since the Big 12 formed in 1996-97.
