Former Oklahoma State SWA dies

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 South Cincinnati in Tulsa. Service will be under the direction of Bixby Funeral Services with the eulogy being given by Reverend Oscar Adams.
Baer was born April 23, 1942, in Morrow County, Ohio, to Wilber and Jane Mosher. In 1963, she married Tom Baer and moved to Bowling Green, Ohio, in 1965. Ann and Tom later divorced.
Baer began her tenure at Oklahoma State University in 1978. She served as an office administrator and administrative associate while earning her bachelor's of science degree at OSU in 1983. She also filled the role of assistant athletic director until promoted to associate athletic director in 1998. As senior woman administrator, she oversaw all nine women sports at OSU. Baer was the first senior woman administrator at Oklahoma State.
Baer was a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA). She also served on the Big 12 Board of SWA's, the advisory board of the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women, and was an officer of the Association of American University Women. She was also the co-founder of Stillwater Women's Aid.
She retired from OSU after 25 years of service in June of 2004. Prior to her stint at OSU, Baer worked as the secretary to the athletics director at Bowling Green State University. Baer also earned her associates degree from Kent State in 1963.
Baer is survived by one daughter, Tonya King and husband Taylor King of Tulsa, and one son, Todd Baer and wife Lisa Baer of Morton County, Ill.; three grandchildren: Zac and Tanner King and Emily Baer; and one sister, Marilyn Rengert of Waldo, Ohio.
Baer was preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Jane Mosher, and her brother, Sam Mosher.
