Cowgirls Handle Arkansas-Little Rock, 11-0
September 01, 2005 | Cowgirl Soccer
OSU improved to 3-0 on the season, while UALR fell to 0-2.
Angelika Feldbacher put the Cowgirls up early with a goal just two minutes into the game. Feldbacher was the first of eight different players who all scored goals. Feldbacher, Adriane Radtke and Johanna Loistl all scored twice.
It was the first game for Radtke who came off the bench late in the first half and produced two goals and an assist.
The 11 goals tallied by the Cowgirls was the second highest total in school history. Oklahoma State defeated Northwestern State 13-0 on Aug. 31, 1997
“It was very important that we got up on this team early,” head coach karen Hancock said. “We scored in the first few minutes and piled it on, we were up six by halftime. That is how Sunday's game should have been, but it wasn't. It was good to see that our team made adjustments and executed better tonight.”
The best opportunity for the Trojans came with two minutes left in the game when Jessica Beaver got loose on a break away, but OSU keeper Erin Stigler corraled the ball before Beaver could get a shot off.
Oklahoma State will take part in the Big Ten/Big12 Challenge this weekend when they travel to Iowa City, Iowa for a Friday night game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Cowgirls then travel to Madison, Wisc., to take on the 25th ranked Wisconsin Badgers.
