Cowboys Kick Off Season at Hurricane Festival

Junior standout Joseph Gray will lead the young Cowboy squad that will feature four freshmen. Senior Sean McCabe, junior David Pomies and sophomore Ryan Vail will join Gray, along with freshmen Matt Barnes-Smith, Alejandro Ruiz, Ryan Birkholz and Montana Keller.
Birkholz and Keller, both true freshmen, are part of this year's recruiting class that the coaching staff has called one of the best OSU has ever had. Birkholz hails from Burlington, Wisc., while Keller came to OSU from Owasso.
Although early in the year, Cowboy Head Coach Dick Weis is confident in his team going into the first weekend.
"It's really early, but our guys have trained well all summer," Weis said. "We are going to go in there and do the best we can and look to finish well."
TU will host the event, now in it's 10th year, at Mohawk Park in Tulsa. Start time is set for 8 a.m. on Saturday.
