Getting to know the Newcomers: Noah Franklin
August 11, 2005 | Cowboy Football
A: The mental aspect of it and just trying to learn all of the new schemes and the new play book. The complexity of it verses what we did in high school is a lot different.
Q: Has anything surprised you yet, good or bad?
A: I did not know how physically ready I would be for it. I came in and tried to get prepared as much as I could with (Rob) Glass this summer. I did not know how I would be able to handle it but it has actually been easier physically than I thought it would be. It is still challenging though.
Q: What are your impressions of coach Wickline?
A: He is a great guy. He has an interesting sense of humor. He is a good coach.
Q: What are your impression of coach Gundy?
A: I really enjoy Gundy. He is a player's coach. He is always there for you with his open door policy. You can talk to him anytime you need to. He is pretty understanding.
Q: Why did yo choose Oklahoma State?
A: Since I was a little kid I always wanted to play here. For awhile there I wasn't sure that when it came down to it this is the place I wanted to be. I looked into were my heart was and were it has always been. This is the place I really wanted to be.
Q: How would you describe yourself as a player to the fans?
A: I am just a student of the game. I want to try to learn it all.
Q: How do you feel about the offensive line so far?
A: We have had a lot of mild injuries so people have been switched around. I think we will be strong when we get everyone sorted out.
Q: Has there been anybody on the offensive line you have been impressed with?
A: Cory Hilliard and Charlie Johnson are constant, steady and silent leaders. They do what they need to do so you never have to question what they are doing.
Q: What about the defensive line?
(Ryan) McBean is quicker than anybody I have gone up against. Walt (Thomas) is as big as anybody I have ever gone up against.
