Tkachenko Receives Conference Honor

Oklahoma State freshman Iryna Tkachenko was named to the 12-member All-Big 12 Women's Tennis team, it was announced by the conference Monday.

Tkachenko, a Kiev, Ukraine native, posted an 8-3 conference mark while competing for the Cowgirls at the No. 1 singles position.

Ranked No. 72 in the ITA's most recent individual polls, Tkachenko has tallied a 17-6 dual record with wins over six ranked opponents, highlighted by a victory over then-No. 34 Gitte Ostermann.

Tkachenko, the third highest ranked individual in the region, waits for the selection of the 2005 NCAA Singles Tournament participants to be announced on Thursday.
