Cowgirls Hit Their Way Past Princeton

With the temperature topping out at 104 degrees at first pitch in
Courtney Totte got the scoring started with a double off the left field fence that scored Stephanie Nicholson after the senior reached on a fielder's choice. Tara Jeffery followed with a single and Dominique Van Nortwick hit her fourth double of the year to up OSU's lead to 3-0. Facing a 4-0 deficit
The Tigers once again threatened in the fifth, putting runners on second and third after back-to-back doubles but the Cowgirls got out of the inning thanks to leftfielder Megan Carey. The senior caught the fly ball then threw a rocket home for the third out of the frame.
Jeffery singled in the fifth then came home on Carey's fourth long ball of the season to account for the final score.
Carey, Totte and Van Nortwick all tallied multi hit games against
Jessica Hoppock took care of business in the circle, scattering seven hits and holding the Tigers to one run. The sophomore improved to 14-11 in the 43rd complete game of her career.
