Shanel Scott Earns All-Region Accolades

Shanel Scott, a sophomore outfielder for Oklahoma State's softball team, was named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region second team this week.

A native of Enid, Okla., Scott served as the leadoff batter and centerfielder in each of the Cowgirls 55 games this spring. She leads the team with a .389 batting average and 70 hits, including the first home run of her career against UMKC on March 8. The speedster also ranks second in career stolen bases with 44, just three shy of tying Cyndi Smith.

Scott and the rest of the Cowgirls kick off play at the Tucson Regional against Ivy League Champion, Princeton, at 4 p.m. (MST/PDT) on Friday.
