Softball Shuts Out No. 10 Baylor

The game was a pitcher's duel through the first four innings with Cowgirl Megan Carey accounting for the only hit. Carey was the lone OSU player to reach until the fifth inning when Tara Jeffery drew and walk but Baylor retired the next three batters to end the inning and keep the game scoreless.
Baylor did not get a hit until the fifth inning when Kim Wilmoth laced a one-out single to left field. The speedster then advanced to second on a steal and third on a throwing error but the OSU defense held tight and left Wilmoth stranded on third.
The Cowgirls put together a rally in the seventh, as Totte and Carey touched Tessa Lynam for a pair of singles but the Cowgirls were unable to score, giving Baylor one final chance to end the game in regulation.
The leadoff batter for the Bears reached on the Cowgirls third error of the game but a pop fly and double play later OSU entered its fourth extra inning game of the year and its second in Big 12 play.
The Cowgirls continued to challenge Baylor in the first extra frame, finally putting runs on the scoreboard following a rally with two outs.
Lacy Darity was hit by a pitch, stole second and Shanel Scott singled to put runners on the corners. The Bears intentionally walked Stephanie Nicholson to set up the force out but Totte made them pay in the following at-bat. The sophomore came through with the clutch hit, a double to right field to clear the bases and give the Cowgirls a 3-0 lead.
Baylor was unable to answer in the bottom of the frame and the Cowgirls improved to 27-10 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Baylor falls to 32-5 overall and 3-2 in league games.
OSU is now 4-0 in extra innings. The Cowgirls started their conference series with
