Cowgirls Successful at Regional Championships

Nineteen Cowgirls will be competing in the individual Zone Championships next weekend in Ft. Collins, Colo. The top two riders in each class will move on to the National Championships.
The individual qualifiers include Allison Hufnagel-Wolff, Brandi Thomas, Lindsey Childress, Laryn Burns, Amanda Yancey, Kayla Elmenhorst, Katie Bohr, Paige Hortman, Mandy McNally, Mary Beth Ede, Lindsay Parker, Marie Baird, Michelle Woolschlager, Cory Johnson, April Peck and Karrie Kehr.
The OSU Western team, compiled of six Cowgirls, also advanced to the Zone Championships where they will be competing for a trip to the National Championships. The four teams in this competition are New Mexico State, Colorado State, Texas A&M and OSU. Cowgirls Beth Moe, Lindsey Welsh, Elmenhorst, Burns, Yancey and Bohr will be representing the Western team at the competition.
Along with the team success, seven Cowgirl riders were Regional Champions. Hortman and McNally won in the Over Fences competition while Woolschlager won in the Hunter Seat flat show. Bohr was the Reigning champion while Peck, Elmenhorst and Thomas won in Western Horsemanship.
The Zone Championships will be held on April 9 in Ft. Collins, Colo.
