Three Cowgirls Named to Conference Academic Team

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team had three individuals named to the 33 person Academic All-Big 12 Women's First Team, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday.

To qualify for first team honors, individuals must maintain a 3.20 GPA and participate in 60 percent of their teams contests. Freshmen and transfer students are not eligible in their first year of competition. All three eligible Cowgirls received the conference honor.

Junior Zana Masnic was named a first team member for the second consecutive year. The Dallas, Texas native, is studying Sociology with an emphasis on criminal law. Masnic is also pursuing an international business minor.

Joining Masnic are sophomores Lauren Simmons and Jennifer Poskitt. Both were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team for the first time.

Simmons, a Smithtown, New York native, is pursuing a degree in History. Poskitt, a Christchurch, New Zealand native, is studying Business.

All three Cowgirls have played in every OSU match this year. The trio will be looking to extend the season at the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday.
