The Cowgirls struggled offensively and Stephanie Nicholson recorded the only two hits of the game. The first was a solo home run to right field in the fourth inning to give OSU a 1-0 lead.

The freshman followed with her seventh strikeout of the game and it looked as if the Cowgirls would once again get out of a jam but the Huskers remained patient in the box and a fourth walk followed to send pinch-runner KoKo Tacha trotting home for the equalizing run. Pinch-hitter Katie Linke earned walk No. 5 to give
Nicholson attempted to rally the Cowgirls in the sixth with a two-out double but Ashley DeBuhr forced Courtney Totte into a pop fly in foul territory to end the inning.
DeBuhr, the reigning Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, set a new career record with 14 strikeouts in the game. DeBuhr improved to 18-14 with the win. Johnson (11-4) took the loss for OSU, fanning seven and allowing two runs off four hits and five walks.
