Cowgirls Fall to No. 14 Baylor, 7-0

“Baylor is an extremely talented team,” said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. “Coming into this match we knew that we needed to do a lot of things well in order to compete. Baylor stayed very focused and really showed how good of a team that they are. They are the conference champions for a reason.”
The Cowgirls (8-14, 4-7) started off behind after losing all three doubles positions. OSU had not been swept in doubles since an April 9 loss against
Baylor (20-4, 11-0) cruised to victory by claiming straight set victories in all six singles positions. Sophomore Lauren Simmons battled Carolin Walter in the afternoon's final match before falling 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
OSU returns to action on Thursday in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament held at the
“Our team is ready for the Big 12 Tournament,” Lubicz-Majewski said. “We have been playing much better than today's score indicates and we will be looking to surprise some people in the conference tournament.”
