Cowgirls? Win Streak Snapped by Aggies, 5-2

The Cowgirls (3-6, 0-3) surrendered the early lead after being swept in all three doubles positions. Texas A&M (5-8, 1-1) rattled off the next four team points to take a 5-0 lead.
“We did not play well today at all,” said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. “Texas A&M is a very talented team, but we should have performed better. We have to start winning the doubles point if we are going to have success in the rest of our season.”
OSU's first individual win came at the No. 6 position. Sophomore Jennifer Poskitt picked up her sixth victory of the year, a 6-3, 6-4, straight set decision over Marisa Druss.
Freshman Iryna Tkachenko finished the Cowgirl scoring, upsetting No. 54 Anna Lubinsky at the No. 1 position, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7).
“There are some things that we have to work on to improve for our next match,” Lubicz-Majewski said. “We plan to work hard this week during practice and be ready for our next opponent.”
The Cowgirls will open the home portion of the season against Kansas State on Friday. The match is slated to begin at the DeBois Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
