Softball Rallies To Beat Arkansas, 4-3
March 30, 2005 | Cowgirl Softball
After exploding for 12 hits in the first game of the day the Cowgirls had just two through the first five innings but finally got their offense going in the sixth.
Stephanie Nicholson started the rally with a base hit and came home on a single from Tara Jeffery. Things continued to fall OSU's way as Megan Carey reached on an error to put runners on the corners.
The Cowgirls pulled within one with a RBI single from Jeffery and Shianne Cruce plated the equalizing run, sending pinch-runner Lacy Darity home with a single to right field.
Jessica Hoppock closed out the sixth by striking out the side and the Cowgirls had all the momentum heading into the final inning.
Nicholson came up with the game-winning hit with two outs in the seventh, sending her eighth home run of the year over the right field fence.
Hoppock earned the win, striking out eight, scattering two hits and allowing three runs in the complete game effort.
