Cowgirls Drop Fourth Straight, 6-1

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was defeated in its fourth straight match, a 6-1 decision against No. 66 Tulsa on Tuesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa.

The Cowgirls (4-10, 1-4) evened the doubles contests at one each when junior Sandra Blajer and freshman Jessica Collins rallied from an early deficit to win, 9-7, in the second slot.

Tulsa (8-10) was able to tally the first team point with a come from behind 9-7 victory at No. 3 doubles. TU ended the match by claiming victories in five of the six singles positions.

The lone Cowgirl victory of the day came at the fifth position where sophomore Jennifer Poskitt defeated Tiffany Smith in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Sophomore Lauren Simmons battled back against Carla Zabaleta at the No. 3 position before falling in the third set tiebreaker, 6-4, 3-6, 10-2.

OSU will return to action over the weekend when they travel north to face Big 12 foes Iowa State and Nebraska on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, to conclude the road portion of this year's schedule. The match against Iowa State is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
