Cowgirls Prepare for Showdown with Rival Tulsa

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team will be looking to snap a three match loss streak when they square off against No. 67 Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

“We really feel that we have some opportunities to compete with a quality program in Tulsa,” said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. “Our team always plays well against Tulsa and will be looking to pull off an upset.”

The Cowgirls (4-9, 1-4) are coming off of a 7-0 loss against No. 29 Notre Dame on Saturday. The match against the Irish was only the second time that OSU has been shut-out this season.

Tulsa (7-10) is coming off of a 4-3 loss against San Diego State. TU features one ranked player, No. 94 Daniela Muscolino, who will compete against freshman standout Iryna Tkachenko at the No. 1 singles slot.

“We know that we have some good opportunities to steal a win or two on the road during this next week,” Lubicz-Majewski said. “We are going to go out, try our hardest and hopefully put ourselves in a good position to win.”

The match against Tulsa is the first of a three-match road trip, the last of its kind for the Cowgirls.
