Home runs were once again in style at Cowgirl Stadium and Oklahoma State's softball team used a pair of solo bombs to defeat North Texas, 2-0, Friday evening. OSU improved to 22-9 with the win while
Tara Jeffery put the Cowgirls on the board with a leadoff shot to right field in the second inning. Megan Carey led off the fourth inning in similar fashion, sending her third long ball of the year and the 21st of her career over the left field fence.
With the two home runs against
Jessica Hoppock and Marjorie Johnson combined for the one-hit shutout, surrendering just one hit to the Mean Green in the sixth inning. Hoppock improved to 9-6 on the year and Johnson tossed the final three innings to pick up the first save of her career.
