Cowgirls Host Texas A&M-Kingsville

Oklahoma State's softball team wrapped up tournament play last week and returns to the friendly confines of Cowgirl Stadium for a three-game homestand, kicking off the week on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The Javelinas are 21-9 on the season, having lost seven of their last 11 after rattling off 17 straight wins during the month of February. Lorissa Melvin paces the team with a .365 batting average and Kassie Rezza has a team-leading nine triples.

Two pitchers, Jennifer Demay and Tori Johnson share time in the circle. Demay is 8-2 on the year with a 0.96 ERA and four shutouts. Johnson has tossed three shutouts en route to a 6-6 record and 1.78 ERA.

In seven games last week, the Cowgirls went 6-1 and posted two shutouts behind a dominant offense that outscored opponents 43-7 and earned three run-rule wins. The successful week ended with the Cowgirls earning a share of the title at the Speedline Invitational and improving their overall record to 20-9.
