March 14, 2005 | Cowgirl Softball
Oklahoma State's softball team was declared the co-champions of the Speedline Invitational, along with Big 12 rival Baylor. The Cowgirls were scheduled to meet Baylor in today's championship game, but both teams had early flights and elected not to start the game if it could not be finished.
The Cowgirls went 4-1 at the tournament, defeating Western Michigan, Villanova, Hofstra and Penn State to advance to the championship contest. Four Cowgirls, Megan Carey, Jessica Hoppock, Tara Jeffery and Shanel Scott, were named to the all-tournament team.
OSU (20-9) returns home for a game against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium.
