McCabe, a junior from Duncan Okla., finished ninth in the one-mile run with a time of 4:08.67, while the freshman, Vail, finished 13th. Also in the mile run, freshmen Alejandro Ruiz and Brian Gosnell finished 14th and 17th, respectively.
McCabe and Vail also competed in the distance relay, along with Ruiz and junior Justin Nobles. That group finished seventh in the team rankings with a time of 10:03.83.
“I'm really proud of those guys that ran in the distance relay for us,” Cowboy assistant coach Dave Smith said. “All four of those kids had run in previous events, but most of the runners that they were competing against had fresh legs.”
Nobles also competed in the 800-meter run. He finished 11th, while his teammate, freshman Brian Wall, finished 12th.
The Cowboys finished a runner in the top-10 in both the 3000-meter run and the 5000-meter run. Sophomore Joseph Gray finished 10th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:36.44, while in the 3000-meter run, freshman David Pomies finished 10th.
Cowboy freshman Aaron Rivera finished 17th in the 400-meter dash. He finished with a time of 52.97.
In the 600-yard run, sophomore David Foster finished 19th with a time of 1:15.96.
