Coaching Career: Entering his sixth full season as an assistant to Julius Lubicz-Majewski ... has helped guide the Cowgirls to conference championships in 2001 and 2003 as well as a Central Region Championship in 2001 ... while an assistant, Berry has aided the Cowgirls to a 77-43 overall record ... helped OSU qualify for the NCAA Tournament in 2001 and 2003.

Playing Career: Was a letterwinner for Stillwater High School in football, baseball and soccer ... played tennis and was ranked in the top 15 in the Missouri Valley ... earned an Oklahoma state championship at the junior level.

Peronal: Born Sept. 20, 1976 ... son of Jim and Ann Berry ... has two brothers, Jim and Jeff ... majoring in sociology ... Jay's father played collegiate tennis at Shimer College in Illinois ... enjoys golfing in his spare time ... favorite athlete is John McEnroe.

Julius on Jay: “Jay has been with us for many years and is a pleasure to work with. He has been around tennis for a long time. He is very good at teaching the girls and likes to help. He is very good at what he does. He has the ability to keep everybody's heads up and happy. He prepares us for the matches and helps to relax the team. It is a blessing to have someone like Jay on our team. He has been a part of our two Big 12 Championship teams.”
