Cowgirl Softball Offense Explodes Against OCU

Oklahoma State's softball team opened the home portion of its schedule by scoring 10 first inning runs en route to a 17-8 win against OCU on Tuesday at Cowgirl Stadium.
The Cowgirls used seven hits and a pair of errors in the opening frame to build a lead that the Stars could not overcome.
Courtney Totte had three RBI in the inning, going 2-for-2 with a pair of singles. Stephanie Nicholson was also 2-for-2 lacing a pair of doubles through the OCU defense and earning two RBI.
Megan Carey scored the lone run of the third inning on a solo home run, her first of the season and the 19th of her career.
Five Cowgirls finished the day with at least two hits and four had at least two RBI.
The Stars closed out the contest strong, scoring seven runs off four hits and three walks in the fifth inning.
Sophomore Randi Cook earned her first start and win of the season, tossing four innings. Kristen Neil entered in the top of the fourth but was replaced by Cook after allowing seven runs off four hits and five walks in one inning. Cook closed out the contest, allowing one run off four hits and three strikeouts.
