Marjorie Johnson Named Big 12 Pitcher Of The Week

Marjorie Johnson, a freshman on Oklahoma State's softball team, was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the league office.

Johnson was 3-0 at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, leading the Cowgirls to wins against Hawaii, 13th-ranked Oregon and tournament host, UNLV.

The Tulsa, Okla., native struck out a season-high 16 batters and allowed two hits in the win against Hawaii. She averaged 13 Ks per game at the tournament and has fanned 11 or more batters in five of seven appearances this season.

Oklahoma State (5-4) takes a break from tournament play this week to host OCU on Tuesday and OBU on Thursday.
