Vail Makes Junior National Team; Pokes Conclude Busy Weekend

Vail, a freshman from Gresham, Ore., finished with a time 25:42 in the 8000-meter run and will compete with the national team at the world championships in Lyon, France, on the weekend of March 18th-20th. The exact date is still to be announced.
Meanwhile Oklahoma State's David Pomies made an impressive showing in the 3000-meter run to lead the Cowboys at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. Pomies, a sophomore from Lyon, France, finished with a time of 8:16.26 to finish 17th in the race. Also for the Cowboys, sophomore Joseph Gray finished 27th with a time of 8:21.75, sophomore Brian Ehlis finished 28th with a time of 8:21.78 and freshman Alejandro Ruiz finished 39th.
In the 400-meter dash, sophomore David Foster finished 30th with a time of 51.68, and junior Justin Nobles finished 35th in the 800-meter run. In the mile run, junior Sean McCabe finished 28th with a time of 4:10.21, and sophomore Chris Stoves finished 33rd with a time of 4:13.76.
Elsewhere for the Pokes, senior J.R. Lake finished with a time of 9:11.45 in the 3000-meter run to lead the Cowboys at the Tyson Foods Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Lake finished 10th while junior Luke Sigle and freshman Chris finished 11th and 12th, respectively. Also, Cowboy sophomore Terry Josserand finished with a time of 49.46 in the 400-meter dash.
The Cowboys will have next weekend off before traveling to Lincoln, Neb., for the Big 12 Championships. That meet will begin on Friday, Feb 25. Starting time is to be announced.
