Cowgirl Basketball Victorious Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff

The Cowgirls (4-4) were once again the beneficiary of a balanced scoring attack, finishing with four players in double figures for the second consecutive game.
OSU also utilized its distinct size advantage inside, grabbing 17 offensive boards and outrebounding the Lady Lions (0-7) by a 48-34 count on the afternoon.
Junior center Whitney Pegram finished with the third 30-point outing of her career. The Silver Lake, Kan., native scored a game-high 30 points and added seven rebounds. Pegram also blocked six shots, tying the school's single-game record set most recently by teammate Christian Hood two years ago.
Freshman Shaunte' Smith narrowly missed her second career double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds for the Cowgirls. Senior Catherria Turner scored 12 points to go along with five assists, while junior Brisa Silva came off the bench to add 10 points and a game-high six assists.
OSU held a 33-21 lead at the half despite being hindered by a 39 percent shooting effort from the floor. Pegram carried the load offensively, connecting on seven of her 10 shots in the period to score 14 of her points.
Using a 10-2 run to start the second half, the Cowgirls were able to put the game away. OSU watched the lead grow to as many as 25 on two occasions after holding UAPB's field goal percentage at 33 percent for the half and 36 percent for the game.
The Cowgirls will take the upcoming week off for final exams before returning to action on Dec. 19 when Memphis comes to Stillwater for a 7 p.m. contest.
