Cowgirls Resume Non-Conference Action Against Memphis

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (4-4) will ride the momentum of a three-game winning streak into its contest against Memphis (2-7) on Monday night at 7 p.m. The tilt is the first for the Cowgirls since taking a week off for final exams and closes out a string of six consecutive home games, while the Tigers come to town looking to bounce back from a loss to Ole Miss on Friday night.
Scouting the Tigers
Memphis heads to Stillwater looking for its second road victory of the season. The Tigers are 1-3 away from home, having won at Lipscomb on Nov. 29. Memphis opened the season with four consecutive losses before defeating the Lady Bisons. The squad's other win on the year came at home against Tennessee-Martin. Three Tigers are scoring in double figures with Paris Leonard leading the way at 15.2 points. Ashley Howard is the team's leading rebounder at 8.1 boards per game. The all-time series between the Cowgirls and Tigers is even at one win apiece after Memphis picked up a 68-59 win at home last year. Monday's contest will be the first-ever between the two schools in Stillwater as the first matchup took place at the 1992 Memphis State Tournament, a 75-64 OSU victory.

The Cowgirls will hit the road for just their second true road game of the non-conference schedule when they travel to Wichita, Kan., on Thursday to take on Wichita State at 7 p.m.

OSU is looking for its first four-game winning streak since a four-game string during the 2003-2004 season ... a win would give OSU a 2-1 series lead against Memphis ... a win would be OSU's fourth-straight at home and would put the Cowgirls above .500 for the first time this year.
