Three OSU Softball Players Honored as Scholar Athletes
November 04, 2005 | Cowgirl Softball
OSU's Megan Carey, Jessica Hoppock and Tara Jeffery all received NFCA Scholar Athlete Award for having a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Carey was a four-year starter for the Cowgirls and graduated last May with a degree in Spanish. The outfielder from San Diego, Calif., finished her career near the top of several statistical categories.
Hoppock is majoring in nutritional science with an emphasis in dietetics. The junior from Haysville, Kan., has been the top pitcher for OSU the last two seasons.
Jeffery is currently undecided on a major. The sophomore infielder from Stillwater started 55 games last season as a freshman, and she provided a big bat in the middle of the lineup.
The Cowgirls completed the fall season unbeaten and will kick off the regular season against Northeastern Oklahoma on Feb. 14.
