Cowboys to Compete in Arkansas
January 20, 2005 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
The Cowboys are coming off a strong performance at the Wildcat Invitational last weekend where Sigle and Vail both captured first-place finishes. Sigle captured top honors in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:20.15. Vail had a time of 4:16.99 to finish first in the one mile run.
Oklahoma State had a strong showing in the 600 yard run, finishing a runner in second, third and fourth place. Sophomore Terry Josserand, a transfer from Bethany College, finished second with a time of 1:13.94. Josserand was followed by freshman Brian Wall (third) and sophomore David Foster (fourth).
Head Coach Dick Weis says the young Cowboy team is coming along and will be ready to compete in a bigger stage such as this weekend's meet.
“We will see good competition this weekend,” Weis said. “Our guys are looking better and it is only a matter of time before we see the full potential of these young runners.”
The Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas, is a two day event that starts on Friday. The Pokes will begin competition at 2 p.m. Saturday.
