Cowboys Strong at First Meet

Vail, a freshman from Gresham, Ore., finished first in the mile run with a time of 4:18.99. Also for the Cowboys, sophomore Joe Gray finished fifth while sophomore David Jankowski and junior Sean McCabe finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Sigle, a junior from Riley, Kan., finished with a time of 9:20.15 to garner top honors in the 3000-meter run. OSU freshman Chris Lewis finished second behind Sigle with a time of 9:22.67 and senior J.R. Lake finished fourth.
Cowboy sophomore Terry Josserand, a transfer from Bethany College, made a strong showing in his Oklahoma State debut. Josserand finished second in the 600-yard run with a final time of 1:13.94. freshman Brian Wall and sophomore David Foster finished third and fourth place behind Josserand, respectively.
The Pokes captured four of the top five spots in the 1000-meter run with freshman Alejandro Ruiz leading the way. Ruiz finished in second-place with a time of 2:34.52. Sophomore Brian Ehlis finished third, sophomore David Pomies finished fourth and freshman Brian Gosnell finished fifth for the Pokes.
“Today was good, I think we ran well," Cowboy Head Coach Dick Weis said. "We don't have an indoor facility to practice in, but I think the guys did well."
Oklahoma State continues action next week at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Action for the two day event begins Friday at 10 a.m.
