Softball Cruises To Three Wins At Fall Invitational

Oklahoma State's softball team dominated its opponents at the Fall Invitational on Saturday, posting 8-0, 10-0 and 10-2 decisions at Cowgirl Stadium.
The Cowgirls defeated
OSU got on the board with a RBI double from Ashlyn Watson in the first, then added two in the second, third and fifth innings. The highlight was a two-run long ball from Tara Jeffery in the fifth. The game was called with no outs in the bottom of the sixth when Shianne Cruce came home on a Navarro error.
Jeffery came up big against
OSU never let the visitors in the game thanks to solid pitching. Marjorie Johnson tossed a no-hitter through five frames, striking out 10. Kristen Neil threw the final inning, giving up one hit and fanning one.
The Cowgirls scored one in the first and third innings before exploding for five runs in the fifth. OSU connected for five hits in the frame including a three-run shot from Rachel Johnson.
Rikki Walker walked and Courtney Totte singled to set up Jeffery's game-ending hit that gave the Cowgirls a 10-0 win.
OSU closed out the day with a 10-2 decision against USAO. The game was tied 2-2 after the first inning but the Cowgirls scored eight unanswered runs to earn their third run-rule win of the day.
Jennie Killman provided what would be the game-ending hit, a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth. The Cowgirls set the stage with three base hits and a walk.
Hoppock allowed two runs, scattered four hits and struck out three in three innings. Johnson closed out the game, fanning four and giving up two hits.
The Cowgirls return to action on Tuesday, hosting
