Cowgirl Softball Defeats Seminole, 4-1

Oklahoma State's softball team won its fifth game of the fall, defeating Seminole Junior College, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon at Cowgirl Stadium.
Seminole took a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Brittani Ellis walked and Janae Owens brought her home with a base hit before being thrown out at second.
The Cowgirls scored one in the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead. With two outs, Shanel Scott tripled to right center and came home on a dinger from Chelsea Caraway.
OSU got on the board in the sixth after a back-to-back hits and a pair of Seminole errors. Jennie Killman singled to start the inning and scored the go-ahead run when Seminole's shortstop stepped off the bag while attempting to tag Ashleigh Tweed out at second.
The Cowgirls added a run in the ninth and 10th innings for the final 4-1 advantage. Cruce led off the ninth with a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and came home on a base hit from Scott.
In the 10th Stephanie Nicholson doubled and Ashlyn Watson singled to bring her home.
Each of OSU's four pitchers tossed three innings. Jessica Hoppock led the group with seven strikeouts. Randi Cook gave up the lone run of the game on one hit and one strikeout. Kristen Neil fanned one and Marge Johnson scattered one hit, walked two and struck out three.
