June 29, 2004 | Cowgirl Softball
Head coach Margaret Rebenar announced the addition of two players to Oklahoma State's softball team for the 2004-05 season. Chelsea Caraway and Ashlyn Watson come to OSU with two years of eligibility remaining after successful junior college careers.
A native of Santa Ana, Calif., Caraway made her way to Oklahoma State via Santa Ana College. Under the tutelage of coach Kim Nutter, Caraway averaged .425 at the plate.
“Chelsea will add maturity and depth to our team at shortstop and catcher, commented Rebenar. “She also brings a solid bat to the lineup.”
Watson played two years at Northern Oklahoma College under Karie Linsenmeyer before transferring to Oklahoma State. The Leedey, Okla., native had a .331 batting average and 26 RBI.
“Ashlyn will be a nice addition in the middle infield and outfield and brings maturity and junior college experience,” stated Rebenar. “She is a very versatile player and will help somewhere in the lineup due to her hitting.”
