Woolhouse Runs at NCAA Championships
June 14, 2004 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
Oklahoma State senior Jason Woolhouse was disqualified from the 5,000m run after finishing fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday evening at Mike Myers Field.
The Christchurch, New Zealand, native was nudged off the track by another competitor as he neared the finish line. He immediately returned to the race but was subsequently disqualified for exiting the running surface. The ruling stood after an appeal by the OSU coaching staff.
Despite a disappointing finish, Woolhouse had an exceptional track career as a Cowboy. He made three appearances at both the indoor and outdoor national meets, his best finish coming during the 2004 indoor season when he finished third in the mile. He also won two Big 12 titles and holds the school record in the 5,000m run.
