Dickerson and Bohr to Compete Among Nation's Elite

The championship is put on by the National Reining Horse Association at the annual NRHA Derby. This is the third year the collegiate championship has been held. The top 12 riders from around the country beat out hundreds to qualify for the championship.
“It is good to have two riders this year,” said head coach Larry Sanchez. “They way both of them are riding they defiantly have a chance to score among the top finishers or win it all if they ride smart.”
Kristin Dickerson placed second at last year's championship. The Las Cruces, N.M., native is coming off winning the High Point Western Rider Championship at this year's IHSA National Championships.
“Coming off her championship at nationals, Kristin is obviously riding at a very high level,” said Sanchez.
Bohr most recently competed at the Varsity National Championship last month. The Holdrege, Neb., native placed second in reining.
“As a freshman, Katie has done a phenomenal job of representing the team and is riding very well,” said Sanchez.
