Cowboys Claim Two Victories at Big 12 Championships

Rantall led off the weekend with his 10K victory Thursday evening, finishing in 30:52. Senior Greg Rouault also scored team points in the event, taking fifth in 31:14. Steve Greenwell and David Jankowski took 12th and 13th, respectively.
On Friday, freshman Chris Stoves qualified for the NCAA regional meet by running a 1:50.56 in the 800m prelims. Stoves went on to finish seventh in the finals on Saturday with a time of 1:51.58.
Woolhouse won his second title of the spring, backing up his indoor mile victory by winning the 1,500m in 3:48.38. Two other Cowboys posted top 15 finishes in the race, with Ryan Ripley taking 11th and Sean McCabe finishing 14th in the preliminary round.
The final event for the Pokes was the 5,000m run, held Saturday evening. Three runners scored points in the race, led by Rantall's third-place finish in 14:28. Rouault was close behind in fifth, and redshirt freshman Tyler Campbell grabbed seventh in 14:40.
Next up for Oklahoma State will be a chance to qualify for the national meet at the Midwest Regional Championships in College Station, Texas, on May 28 and 29.
