Cowgirls Lose First Round Of Bedlam Softball, 2-1

Oklahoma State's softball team scored one run in the bottom of the seventh but it was too little too late as Oklahoma came away with a 2-1 win in the first Bedlam contest of the season on Thursday night.
With the loss the Cowgirls dropped below .500 for the first time since 1999, falling to 20-21 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
The Sooners scored two runs in the top of the first then held on for the win. Christina Enea hit the two-run bomb, plating Kristin Vesely after she reached on a single. It was the junior's first home run since February 6, a span of 41 games.
The Cowgirls seemed to have the answer in the bottom of the second after loading the bases with a pair of walks and a single but OU's defense held strong and escaped the inning untouched.
Lacy Darity led of the seventh with a single, Shanel Scott reached on an error and Courtney Totte followed with a base hit. Suddenly the Cowgirls had the bases loaded and a rally was in full force.
Things continued to go OSU's way when Kami Keiter threw her first wild pitch of the game, allowing Lacy Darity to come home. It would be all the offense
Jessica Hoppock took the loss in the circle, falling to 16-14 on the year. The freshman gave up two runs off seven hits and six strikeouts.
