14 OSU Track & Field Athletes Named Academic All-Conference
April 27, 2004 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
Senior Lisa Bowles was one of only 20 team members to 4.0 grade point average, doing so in journalism and broadcasting. Other first teamers on the women's squad include seniors Misty Carey, Catherine Clifford, Kelli Eaton, April Hart, Valentina Medina, and Leigh Tracy, juniors Stacy Deloach and Paula Ogunbanjo, and sophomore Cody Birk.
Joanna Fedick, a nutritional sciences senior from Catoosa, Okla., was named to the second team.
The Cowboys had three runners honored, led by first-team selection Jason Woolhouse. The Christchurch, New Zealand, native has been selected to the first or second team each of his four years at Oklahoma State.
Two men garnered second-team honors, biological sciences sophomore Sean McCabe, and accounting redshirt freshman Ryan Ripley.
First-team members consist of those with a 3.20 GPA, while second-team members include those with a GPA of 3.0-3.19, either cumulative or the previous two semesters. Student-athletes must also have competed in 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests. Seniors who have competed for at least two years and meet academic requirements are not subject to the participation requirement.
Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls will be in action Thursday through Saturday at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Norman, Okla.
