Equestrian to Defend Varsity National Championship

Oklahoma State's equestrian team will look to defend their Varsity National Championship on April 23-24 at the Olympic Horse Park in Conyers, Ga.

The Varsity National championship involves the top varsity equestrian programs from around the country. The Cowgirls won the title last year in the Western discipline.

“We hope to have as strong of a showing as we did last year and couple with the English team to win the overall title,” said head coach Larry Sanchez. “We need to ride well, do what we need to do, and with a little luck hopefully we can repeat.”

The Equestrian team is wrapping up a successful season which has seen the Western team win a regional and zone championship. The Western team has also earned a bid in next month's IHSA National Championships. The English team has also had a successful season finishing as regional runner-up.
